ProTools 12 will not read the old SD2 files. Avid originally created the SD2 standard, and now it appears it is abandoning support for it.
We have thousands of old ProTools sessions that we can no longer access without an old machine running an older version of ProTools. I see that other people have the same problem and Avid would be wise to listen.
I request that Avid add SD2 support once again in new ProTools versions, or even better, write a batch conversion utility to convert entire SD2 sessions to the latest version of ProTools.

It was my hobby — playing in church and playing with various musical groups but I was still not satisfied. There had to be a way I could combine my engineering skills with my passion for music into something good and unique.
This was a great instrument with realistic sounds and different from the Japanese brands. But it had its shortcomings.
